Rene Russo was born in Burbank California. Her parents were Shirley (Balocca) a barmaid as well as factory worker as well as Nino Russo. Rene's father, a mechanic and sculptor, left her family around the age of two. Her mother then raised Rene along with her sister Toni by herself. Her father, an Italian from the Italian-German-English-Irish lineage was her mother. Rene suffered from scoliosis during her high school days and required full-torso support. Rene was already a tall girl which earned her the name Jolly Green Giant from her friends. Although she attended Burroughs High School alongside Ron Howard (a fellow classmate) Even with her brace removed her, she was still an isolated Ranger. Not able to handle the academics as well as the social life at school, Rene dropped out of high school at the age of ten. For the next 18 months she took many part-time job opportunities to make cash. A movie theater was one of them, and she received free tickets for film shows. At a restaurant she was offered free food. She would often work multiple jobs at the time. Last job she had solely for earning money was working full time at an eyeglasses factory inspecting contact lenses.
