Ashanti Shequoiya, also known by the name Ashanti, is a popular American singer and actress. She is a singer and actress from in the United States. Ashanti began her career in the teen years, and was eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. Ashanti made an appearance as The Fat Joe's What's Luv? And Fat Joe's What's Lulv? With Foolish and the track What's Luv at Number One and her first number one hit, she was the only woman to record two songs that were in the Billboard Hot 100 chart top ten of the United States. The first female artist holding the top two spots on Billboard Hot 100 in America and with the number one spot held by Foolish. one, and then What's Love? Let's celebrate the special occasion with us. Ashanti Shequoiya, better called Ashanti is a New Yorker born in Glen Cove, New York on the 13th of October 13, 80. Tina Douglas is the mother of Ashanti and Ken Kaide Douglas serves as the her father. Kenashia Tia Douglas is younger. Douglas was given the name Ashanti in honor of the Ashanti Empire where women enjoyed the power and influence. Douglas hoped Ashanti would be like the Ashanti Empire. James Her grandfather was a leader in civil rights during the 1960s, who was along with Martin Luther King Jr. The Ashanti's mother discovered her talent after hearing her sing Mary J. Ashanti's debut single Foolish includes a snippet of DeBarge's 1983 song Stay with Me. Ashanti made her debut album, self-titled album in 2002. It was released on Irv Goti's Murder Inc. label. The Declaration, her fourth studio-album, came out in June 2008. The 16th of October Hey Baby (After the Club) was made available to radio and digital outlets.
